7-on / 7-off schedule at our 600-bed academic tertiary care hospital. Direct admit + co-management with subspecialty services. 12-hour shifts. Open-ICU model.
Stony Brook University Hospital is hiring board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine physicians for our Hospital Medicine division.
**What you'll do**
- Direct admission + co-management of 14-18 patients per shift
- Work alongside IM and FM residents (we are an ACGME-accredited teaching site)
- Rotate through general medicine, observation, and surgical co-management services
- Participate in division QI, M&M, and academic activities (protected time available)
**Requirements**
- MD or DO with active or pending NY medical license
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine (ABIM)
- US-trained residency or J-1 / H-1B with prior NY waiver experience welcome
- DEA registration prior to start date
**Compensation**
- Base salary $270k–$320k commensurate with experience
- wRVU bonus structure beginning at 4,400 wRVUs/year
- $25k signing bonus + $40k residency loan repayment
- Full malpractice (occurrence-based), $7k CME annually
